It's been so LONG! And so much has changed with Ontario being in Covid lock down.
I've been getting inquiries about Foot Reflexology from all over - Waubaushene, Balm Beach, Lafontaine, and surrounding areas around Midland on Georgian Bay- And have to keep saying "I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to practice right now." It's sad for me, too. I miss sharing that healing gift. At the time of writing, the Stay-At-Home order is in effect until June 2, 2021, and during this shut down, according to the Reflexology Association of Canada's Website, RCRT™s (Regsitered Certified Reflexology Therapists) are not allowed to provide their services. I"m guessing that when the hair dressers and hair salons in Midland are allowed to open, that foot Reflexologists can get back to work, too. Since I no longer have my office, my plan is to do home visits, outside, in the Midland area, when we are allowed to work again! I'll be looking for you to have a shaded area to set up my zero gravity chair and all the things I'll need to work. If you already have zero gravity lawn chairs, I'll be happy to use yours. I'll also ask if I'll need to provide the towels and pillows necessary ahead of time. Even though we'll be outside, we'll still have to wear masks and any other PPE that the government deems necessary. There also can be no dogs unleashed, and no smoking during the sessions. As we get closer to having some answers about how Ontario is going to open back up from this lock down, I'll have more answers for you in terms of how my personal care service is going to be able to function. I'll announce here when that is going to be an available service, as well as on my facebook page. Stay well, Lori.

The last week of September is World Reflexology Week. It's a pretty exciting time for Reflexology practitioners everywhere. We believe in what we do, and we love what we do, but often Reflexology is a modality that not a lot of people understand or have tried.
World Reflexology Week is a time for us to highlight what it is that we do, what being a Reflexology wellness practitioner can mean, and share the message of what Reflexology can do to benefit your health. Foot Reflexology really is one of those things you just have to try for yourself, to see how it can benefit you. I can explain all I want about better circulation, pain reduction, better sleep, and more, but until you have an hour in the chair, all the words might mean nothing. So, I've decided that instead of just celebrating for a week, I'm doing a WHOLE MONTH at a special reduced price. I would love for you to come in and experience Reflexology for yourself. Give yourself permission to relax, and enjoy a passive one hour Foot Reflexology treatment at a discounted rate. For $30, during the whole month of September, you can try a full one hour reflexology session! I have some evening and weekend availability for this special, too, so that if you work during the day, you won't miss out by not being available during regular business hours. My schedule online has my availability on it, and you can choose your own time. Alternately, you can contact me through the form on this page. Construction season has arrived in Midland! Road workers are busy, houses and renovations are on the go, and all the factory workers who still have to do their shifts in work boots are feeling it.
Work Boots will protect your feet with their steel toes and heavy construction, but work boots can also make your feet feel extra tired at the end of the day. Often when your feet spend their work shift in heavy boots, you'll experience pain and sensitivity at the end of the day. Foot Reflexology can help. Foot pain in the arches, in the ball of your foot, toe cramps, bruising inflammation, and plantar faciitis are some common complaints among people who have to wear work boots Monday to Friday. A Reflexology foot massage can help the circulation in your feet and legs to reduce the pain from work boots. The accupressure-like treatment can also reduce the pain or cramps you are feeling from bunions, hammer toes, and the pressure having your foot wrapped up all day in protective footwear. A Reflexology treatment can also help you figure out if you've developed calluses that are causing problems, if you are experiencing new nerve pain, or if you are experiencing new ingrown toenails that are causing pain. Reflexology helps the entire body feel better, reduces stress, and helps the body heal itself. Midland Ontario Reflexology is available after regular business hours and on weekends, for construction workers or factory workers who work shift work and long days. Your first visit in office is only $35 to give it a try and see if it's a therapy that will work to alleviate your foot pain or strain from work boots. Contact us today to ask questions, or book your appointment. May's appointment availability for Reflexology in Midland Ontario has been updated! I had to make some deep cuts, because I'm in the Huronia Players performance of Calendar Girls in Midland Ontario! It runs from May 4th 2018 until May 19th at the Midland Cultural Centre.
I only have a small part in this one, but I still have to be there every run, for the entire play, so that's cut into Friday and Saturday nights, as well as Sundays (which was a popular day for Reflexology and Reiki bookings!) If you visit my calendar for booking foot reflex, you'll see there are still a good amount of days and times left. Although they are mostly during the work week, I do have some Saturday mornings available. We are getting into the time when my bookings for home parties are starting to come in - Even though June and July feel far away, My weekend bookings fill up FAST. I can visit cottages and homes in the Midland area, As far as Balm Beach, and Victoria Harbour. Send me an email to be sure I can come to you, and what the rates are for Reflexology home visits. If you are curious about fitting into one of my quiet times, for either a tarot reading, a medium reading, reflexology or reiki, have a peek at my schedule! http://lorigrace.appointy.com/ I thought that I was immune to the illness that has been flying through our community, but alas, it got me. Today is day one of feeling better, after a week of wrestling with the respiratory THING that I caught. I'm still recovering faster that others that have had it. I have chatted with a lot of people who have said this cough has held onto them for weeks and weeks! Oh dear. Although I cancelled a bunch of reflexology appointments, and during the fever missed a bunch of calls, I still had to go to my part time job at the thrift store, as there was no one there to cover for me. I bought masks at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Hwy 93 in Midland. They sell them for 50 cents each, but I purchased a whole box! I figure, I'll be using them up with clients! If you are not feeling well, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to miss out on your reflexology appointment. I know, when I was sick, it was most comforting to have someone close by. So, if you are past the fever stage, but still suffering from the cough or sore throat, we can always mask you up. For me, this thing started as a twitch in the lungs. It moved into a fever, then dry cough. A general feeling of lethargy set in while my body fought it. I ate a lot of garlic, took a lot of hot baths with epsom salt, and sipped a lot of Tumeric and Ginger tea. Although I rarely take medication, I bought some over the counter day time/night time combo for cold and flu. I only needed half the dose to get some relief, though. If you are experiencing this respiratory thing going around, Reflexology can help you feel better, and can also help by encouraging lymph to move through your system, and give you a circulation boost. I also diffuse Eucalyptus essential oil during our session, to help kill airborne germs and soothe the cough. Now that I'm through it, I'm back to taking bookings. If you are working your way through this illness, I hope you feel better soon! Lori It's almost 2018, and even if you've sworn off making new years resolutions, it's still a perfect time of year to focus on wellness!
Whether your wellness plans include getting more active, going to the gym, taking up a new sport or an old beloved one, any new activity is going to cause stress in your body. Some of it is delightful stress, it feels good to move and stretch! But so often, we forget how hard our feet are working to get the rest of our bodies moving and in good health. Reflexology is not just an hour long foot massage (although it does feel very very good on tired feet!) We pin point cramps or tense spots and massage the stress away, while hitting pressure points on your feet that encourage the rest of your body to relax and heal itself. Reflexology is also a healing modality that works with all other things you might be doing for your new years wellness plan - RMT Massage (Registered Massage Therapy) , Chiropractic work for pain, acupuncture (traditional Chinese acupuncture or medical acupuncture.), Yoga, float tank therapies, and Naturopath therapies. Reflexology is also a great way to reduce the stress of so much snow shovelling, and also the mental stress of getting over the holidays, and can help with Seasonal Affective Disorder or depression, through healing touch and connection.
